1Uninstall
macOS app uninstaller

Uninstall apps the right way.

Dragging an app to the Trash leaves caches, preferences and saved state behind. 1Uninstall traces every file an app touched, scores what's safe, and removes only what you approve — always reversible.

  • Moves to Trash — never deletes
  • One-click undo
  • 100% on-device

The mess left behind

A trashed app is rarely a clean one.

Drag an app to the Trash and it leaves Caches Preferences Containers Helpers behind — quietly eating gigabytes for apps you no longer run.

1Uninstall traces every file an app touched — and shows its work.

A few of the places it looks

How it works

Three steps from app to clean Mac

Scan, review the why behind every file, then move only what you approve to the Trash.

  1. 01
    Scan

Pick an app — find everything it touched

1Uninstall reads your installed apps and traces the support files, caches, preferences, containers, saved state, logs and helpers each one scattered across your Library.

  2. 02
    Review

See the why behind every file

Each item gets a confidence level, a risk score, and a plain-language reason it was matched. Safe Mode leaves anything uncertain unchecked, so you stay in control.

  3. 03
    Clean

Move to Trash — undo anytime

Approve your selection and 1Uninstall moves it to the Trash. Nothing is permanently deleted. Restore the whole batch with one click from History.

Features

Everything an uninstall should do.

Tracing, scoring, reviewing and restoring — every part of removing an app, handled with care. Some of it is free; the deeper sweeps are Pro.

  • FREE

    Confidence & risk scoring

Every match is rated High, Medium or Low confidence and given a 0–100 risk score, so you know what's safe at a glance and what deserves a second look.

  • FREE

    Safe Mode

Low-confidence files stay unchecked by default. Approve them deliberately, never by accident.

  • FREE

    Private by design

Everything runs on your Mac. No account, no cloud, no telemetry — the only thing that ever moves is the files you choose, and only to your Trash.

  • PRO

    Orphan finder

Surface leftover files from apps you deleted long ago — the junk a drag-to-Trash uninstall left behind.

  • PRO

    Startup items

Review LaunchAgents, LaunchDaemons and privileged helpers that load at login.

  • PRO

    Bulk queue

Line up many apps at once and clean them in a single pass.

  • PRO

    Duplicate apps

Spot the same app installed in more than one place and queue the copies.

    History & one-click restore

Every uninstall is logged as a batch. Reveal it in Finder or restore the whole thing instantly.

  • FREE

    Permission health

A quick check tells you whether Full Disk Access is letting 1Uninstall see every Library folder.

  • PRO

    Scan reminders

Schedule a gentle nudge to run a cleanup so leftovers never pile up again.

Built to be reversible

Powerful cleanup you can always take back.

Removing files should never feel like a leap of faith. 1Uninstall is built so every action is visible, recoverable and entirely yours — nothing leaves the Mac, nothing is gone for good.

  • Moves to Trash, never deletes

Approved items go to the system Trash, not a permanent wipe. Anything you reconsider is sitting there, recoverable, until you empty it.

  • One-click restore from History

Every uninstall is logged as a batch. Restore the whole set in a single click — files return to exactly where they came from.

  • 100% on-device

No account, no cloud, no telemetry. 1Uninstall reads your Library locally and nothing about your apps ever leaves the Mac.

  • Protected files stay locked

System and privileged-helper files are held behind explicit Admin mode. You opt in, item by item — nothing protected moves by accident.

  • A reason before you act

Each file shows its confidence, a 0–100 risk score and a plain-language reason — so you decide with the full picture, not a guess.

FAQ

Questions, answered plainly.

What 1Uninstall does, where your files go, and why it asks for access.

Does 1Uninstall permanently delete my files?
No. Everything you remove is moved to the Trash, never erased. You can restore the entire uninstall as a batch from History with one click, or recover individual items straight from the Trash — until you empty it yourself.
Is it safe? How do I know what's being removed?
Every match shows a confidence level, a 0–100 risk score, and a plain-language reason it was linked to the app. Safe Mode leaves anything low-confidence unchecked by default, and system-protected files stay locked until you explicitly enable Admin mode.
Does anything leave my Mac?
Never. 1Uninstall runs entirely on-device. There's no account, no cloud sync, and no telemetry. It only reads your app and Library folders to find leftovers, and the only thing that ever moves is the files you approve — into your own Trash.
Why does it ask for Full Disk Access?
macOS hides some Library folders from apps without permission. Granting Full Disk Access lets 1Uninstall see every cache, container and support folder so it can find more leftovers. It's optional — the built-in Permission Health check shows you exactly what it can and can't reach.
What can it find that dragging an app to the Trash can't?
A drag-to-Trash uninstall only removes the .app bundle. 1Uninstall also traces the caches, preferences, containers, saved state, logs and helper files it left behind — and the Orphan finder surfaces leftovers from apps you removed long ago.
What's the difference between Free and Pro?
Free cleanly uninstalls any app — including protected system apps via Admin mode — with full scoring, Safe Mode and undo. Pro adds whole-Mac tools: the orphan finder, bulk queue, startup and duplicate detection, and scheduled reminders.
What do I need to run it?
macOS 13 Ventura or later, on both Apple silicon and Intel Macs. It's a small native app — no background services, no login required.
